Senior Trust Finance Officer
Salary: Thurrock Band E Point 26 - 31 (£40,062 - £45,623 per annum)
Start Date: January 2026
37 hours per week Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm (30-minute unpaid break)
52 weeks of the year
25 days annual leave per annum plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days on completion of 5 years' continuous service.

We're looking for a Senior Trust Finance Officer to join our dynamic finance team and support our schools in delivering excellent education for all.
In this vital role, you'll ensure accurate financial accounting across the Trust, maintain robust systems, and provide clear, timely reports to senior leaders. You'll champion best practice, uphold statutory guidance, and make sure our co-operative values shine through in everything we do. From managing reconciliations and fixed asset registers to supporting budget cycles and audits, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations.
What You'll Do:
✔️ Support the Trust Chief Finance Officer with accurate financial reporting and compliance.
✔️ Carry out monthly reconciliations and maintain internal controls.
✔️ Manage the Trust's fixed asset register and supplier database.
✔️ Assist schools through budget planning and monitoring cycles.
✔️ Prepare documentation for audits and government returns.
✔️ Oversee payroll reconciliations and VAT submissions.
✔️ Collaborate across the Trust to ensure transparency and value for money.
What we're looking for in you:
✅ A confident finance professional with AAT or equivalent qualification.
✅ Strong ICT skills and experience with financial systems.
✅ Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
✅ A proactive problem-solver who can work independently and as part of a team.
✅ Committed to upholding the Trust's co-operative values and ensuring fairness and consistency.
