Term time only plus 2 days for INSET -8.30am to 3:45pm Monday - Friday.

Salary:SCP 2 - SCP 5

FTE:£23,616 - £24,357

West Thurrock Academy has a fantastic opportunity for you to join our dedicated and hardworking EYFS Support Team. The successful EYFS Practitioner will work as part of a team to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports the development and well-being of children aged 3-5 years in the school's EYFS.

Key tasks associated to the role:

Health, Safety & Safeguarding

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment at all times.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Carry out daily risk assessments and report any concerns to management.

Personal Care

  • Support children with personal care routines including feeding, toileting, and dressing.
  • Maintain dignity and respect for each child at all times.

Partnership with Parents

  • Develop strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and welfare.
  • Encourage parental involvement in the nursery.

Teamwork and Communication

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver a balanced curriculum.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to planning and improvement discussions.

Administration

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records including observations, learning journals, accident forms, and attendance logs.
  • Follow nursery policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
  • Clear enhanced DBS check.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

West Thurrock Academy is a two-form school which currently has 450 children on role.
