Templars Academy - Learning Support Assistant

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and professional team at Templars Academy in Witham.

This position is for 24.5 hours per week, term time only. (8.45am - 3.00pm, Monday - Thursday, 8.45am - 2.30pm on a Friday). This includes an unpaid 15-minute morning break and 1-hour lunch break.

This position is initially fixed term for the Academic year linked to funding, however there is a possibility of extension.

Salary Scale 3 point 5, Actual starting salary, £14,432 per annum.

Applicants should have experience working with children in a school environment.It is essential that you have GCSEs (grades A-C) in both Maths and English, or hold equivalent qualifications in this area.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of different personalities and skill levels.
  • Able to engage well with pupils.
  • Able to work under your own initiative.
  • Smartly presented and with excellent time management skills.

Templars Academy is located on Cressing Road in Witham, Essex. Our large fenced site benefits from excellent facilities. This includes two school buildings, each with disabled access and toilets, a disabled car parking space close by, and their own halls. We have extensive landscaped grounds, a fully air-conditioned ICT suite and a well-stocked library. The staff and children thoroughly enjoy working together across the school sites. We are constantly seeking to improve the learning experiences for children and have created a curriculum which captures their interest in line with the current national curriculum.
