We're looking for an exceptional Food Technician to become a vital part of our community and provide full technician support to Food Technology teaching staff (particularly in the preparation and clearing of lesson materials).
- The successful candidate will work 19.5 hours per week across 3 days (8.15am - 3.30pm Wednesday to Friday)
- This is a 39-week-per-year role, which includes term time and non-pupil days.
A Day in the Life:
You'll be responsible for the following areas:
- Assisting with the ordering and maintenance of supplies for the department.
- Assisting teaching staff in the preparation of resources/ingredients for lessons.
- Assisting students in lessons with access to resources as appropriate.
- Clearing classrooms/work areas after lessons, undertaking washing up, cleaning of work surfaces, return of resources to appropriate storage etc as required.
- Providing technical support for Food Technology staff and students at all times.

Information about the School
St Helena School, part of the Sigma Trust, is a highly-regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, recognised as Good by Ofsted in 2014 and now on a journey to Outstanding. Located on 17 acres in historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities and opened a £2.5m new Science block in 2015, and a £2.5m all weather pitch facility in February 2016.
