We're looking for a skilled and dedicated Administration Assistant to become a vital part of our community and provide essential support that keeps our school running smoothly.
This role is ideal for a highly organised and communicative individual who thrives on being busy.
- The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week (8:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am - 3:30pm Friday)
- This is a 40-week-per-year role, which includes term time, non-pupil days, and an additional week during the school closure period.
A Day in the Life:
You will be a central point of contact, managing a diverse range of responsibilities such as:
- Serving as the initial point of contact for all general school inquiries.
- Providing comprehensive administrative support across the whole of the school.
- Acting as a resource for student questions and needs.
- Organising and administering school trips.
- Designing and creating a variety of professional documents, letters and posters.
- Accurately updating and maintaining school data as requested using Arbor and other school applications.
- Assisting with school events.
- Liaising with staff, outside agencies, parents and other schools as appropriate.
What We're Looking For:
You are the perfect fit for our team if you have:
- A good standard of education (ideally GCSE Level or equivalent).
- The ability to effectively manage your own time and prioritise work in a demanding environment.
- High level communication abilities and excellent IT skills in a range of software applications.
- Key attributes such as a friendly yet professional manner, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to work effectively and positively within a team.

Information about the School
St Helena School, part of the Sigma Trust, is a highly-regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, recognised as Good by Ofsted in 2014 and now on a journey to Outstanding. Located on 17 acres in historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities and opened a £2.5m new Science block in 2015, and a £2.5m all weather pitch facility in February 2016.
On 1 September 2016, the school joined The Sigma Trust, a partnership of schools with The Stanway School, The Thomas Lord Audley School, Clacton County High School, Monkwick Junior School and Monkwick Infants School and Nursery.
