Catering Assistant

11:30am - 2pm: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (7.5 hours per week)

Start date: As soon as possible

Scale 2 (3-4) (£24,796- £25,185 pro rata)

38 weeks of the year (term time, no INSET days)

Following a re-organisation of roles, an opportunity has become available for a Catering Assistant to join the Great Totham catering team. Our kitchen is a friendly, supportive and very busy place. Each day we regularly cook and serve over 300 meals.

We are ideally looking for someone with experience of kitchens.

The role involves:-

· Hand washing of large kitchen pots and pans

· Helping to serve when necessary

· Stacking and emptying industral sized dishwashers

· Daily cleaning to maintain our 5 star hygiene rating standard

The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team, use their own initiative and be committed to maintaining our excellent standards.

All food hygiene training will be provided.

Following shortlisting, candidates will be invited for a taster session within the kitchen before being called to interview. This is to ensure all candidates have a clear understanding of the role and have had the opportunity to meet the team.

In line with recommended practice, the school will conduct searches on short listed candidates of information that is publicly available online.
