We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to support our SEND pupils and to provide interventions. You will work in partnership with the Class Teacher and must be able to work flexibly and with enthusiasm. The working hours are from 8.30-3.30pm Monday - Friday term time only.
Thurrock Band 3 - Point Range 8-12 including fringe allowance and 6 weeks paid holiday entitlement.
Your primary role will be to maintain the safety, welfare and good conduct of the pupils during the lunchtime break. Duties will include supervising the dining hall, administering first aid and supporting children's play (Training will be provided)
Our friendly team will support you and training will be provided.
We are looking for a person who:
· has high expectations of the children and themselves with a passion for raising standards and attainment
· can think creatively to engage, enthuse and motivate children to learn
· is passionate about supporting all pupils, demonstrating empathy and understanding of different needs
· is confident and able to work with pupils with challenging needs, including social and emotional needs/ behaviours
· has a good understanding of the primary curriculum and skills to assist pupils in developing a good standard of attainment
· has a good understanding of how to support children with pastoral needs
· is confident and able to support pupils in small groups and 1:1
· works well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice.
