Long Ridings Primary School is seeking a friendly, organised, and dedicated Administrative Assistant / Receptionist. As a valued member of our administrative team, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth school operations while providing excellent customer service.
As an Administrative Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Bursar play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of our school office. You will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff, providing a professional and welcoming service.
The Role:
· Welcoming visitors and handling telephone enquiries
· Assisting in school communications with parents
· Greeting visitors and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
· Assisting with clerical tasks such as sorting mail and distributing letters
· Using the school management information systems (SIMs) for administrative support
· Communicating with parents using current systems
· Help to maintain accurate pupil records and databases
· Assisting with correspondence, letters, and newsletters
· Providing general support to staff and leadership teams

The successful candidate will:
· Be passionate, motivated, and have excellent communication skills as well as being friendly, approachable, and professional
· Be highly organised and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
· Be able to multitask and stay calm under pressure and remain positive
· Be able to work as part of an efficient team as well as independently
The role often involves dealing with sensitive information and the postholder would need to demonstrate their ability to handle confidential matters appropriately.
