West Horndon Primary School is seeking an energetic Primary PE Teacher and Subject Lead to join our small, progressive school and champion our ethos of placing physical activity at the very heart of whole-school life.
We will pay you on the Unqualified Teacher scale with London Fringe allowance. This starts at £24066

The Role
As our PE Teacher and Subject Lead, you will:
- Shape and deliver a vibrant PE curriculum that inspires all children to be active and confident.
- Use physical activity as a powerful tool to build character, confidence, and resilience in every child.
- Take a strategic approach to curriculum design, resource management, and long-term development of PE provision.
- Support and mentor colleagues to build their confidence in delivering high-quality PE and promoting active lifestyles.
- Plan and lead a wide range of exciting after-school clubs and sports activities.
- Help make lunchtimes more active by leading play opportunities and developing pupil Play Leaders.
- Support academic learning through the integration of physical activity across the wider curriculum.
About You
You will be:
- An inspiring educator with a proven track record in delivering an engaging PE curriculum and extra-curricular programme.
- Qualified with at least a Level 1 coaching qualification in one sport.
- Highly organised, proactive, and a natural communicator.
- Passionate about child development, physical literacy, and the power of sport to transform lives.
