Contract Type: Part time - Term time only plus 2 days for INSET - 8.30am to 3:45pm Monday - Friday.
Contract Term: Fixed term contract - Linked to aReception named child
FTE Salary: SCP3 - £24,796 - SCP5 - £25,538
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a 1:1 School Support Assistant, providing tailored support to a pupil with medical needs in Reception.
This is a vital role in supporting the learning and well-being of a child with specific medical requirements within a nurturing and inclusive school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and healthcare professionals to provide effective care and learning support throughout the school day.
Key Responsiblities:
- Provide 1:1 assistance to a named pupil with medical needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and full access to the curriculum.
- Administer medical care and respond to medical situations as per the child's care plan (training provided).
- Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external health professionals.
- Keep accurate records of care and progress.

Information about the School
West Thurrock Academy is a two-form school which currently has 450 children on role. The school is very spacious with a large hall for P.E, assemblies and school meals, plenty of outdoor learning zones and access to a good-sized field. The school also has a computer suite and Food Technology Room that is used by all classes within the school. The school is open and inclusive, enabling our children to learn and explore in a safe and secure environment.
West Thurrock Academy is a Single Academy Trust with a Governing Body and a Members Board.
The school is currently rated Good with Ofsted, July 2022.
