St Michael's is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team.
St Michael's is in a unique position whereby we are operating 2 rooms as an alternative resource provision to support some of our children who would not thrive in a mainstream school classroom. We will be increasing this provision to 3 rooms for upto 15 children in September 2025 and a consultation has gone out to make the ARP (Alternative Resourced Provision) official, which we are hopeful will happen in January 2026. The majority of the children accessing these rooms have a diagnosis of severe learning difficulty / ASD.
Whilst this role is not predominantly based in these rooms, you may be required to support the children within these settings.
St Michael's have an expectation that all learning support staff will work with all children as directed, and this may include children who has special educational needs.
This role also includes lunchtime cover.
We require a committed, passionate teaching assistant who:
· has experience of working with SEND pupils in a school setting;
· is patient and resilient with a positive nature;
· is self-motivated and can use his/her own initiative;
· has high expectations of self and others;
· has proven behaviour management skills;

Working hours:
Hours of work - TBC (Our school day is 8.40 - 3.20pm and you will be required for Non-Pupil days)
