Position: Pastoral Support Worker
Location: Templars Academy Witham, Essex
Contract Type: Permanent, part time 15 hpw (mornings), working pattern 8.45am - 12.00pm (includes a 15 minute unpaid morning break)
Salary: Scale 3, term time only, £8384 per annum

Role Overview:
As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with social and emotional needs. You will work closely with the MAT Safeguarding Lead, engage with families, and ensure that children can access education effectively. Your responsibilities will include delivering a range of programmes tailored to meet pupil needs and collaborating with teachers to support children within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to children with social and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with the MAT Safeguarding Lead to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Engage with families to build strong, supportive relationships and facilitate effective communication.
- Develop and deliver programmes aimed at addressing the specific needs of pupils.
- Work alongside teachers to provide in-class support and ensure an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on the progress and well-being of students under your care.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Grades A-C or equivalent in both Maths and English is essential
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
- Excellent IT Skills.
