We wish to appoint an experienced individual to provide support within The Gilberd School, in order to raise standards and help achieve the aims of the school.

The role is a fixed term to 31 August 2026 due to the present post holder commencing maternity leave in September 2025

Internal Suspension Room Supervisor

Pay Range: Scale 5, Point Range 9 - 12

Salary: £26,409 - £27,711 (pro rata), £13,767 - £14,446 (actual)

Hours/Weeks: 22.5 hours per week for 39 weeks (Term Time + Inset Days)

Working Pattern: 08:30 - 16:30 Monday - Wednesday

The successful candidate will need to work as part of the Pastoral Team to supervise students who require appropriate time to reflect and regulate before returning to lessons.

The Gilberd School is an extremely popular, oversubscribed mixed 11-16 comprehensive school, in North Colchester with a reputation for creating an ethos of high aspirations for all 1570 students. The school is on a large site. There has been considerable expansion and modernisation in recent years. Classroom accommodation is generally modern and spacious. We have excellent sports and performing arts facilities.

We are a large, high performing and oversubscribed 11-16 coeducational school in Colchester and as such, we offer a diverse range of careers.
