Role:Deputy Head of Learning Support

Contract: Permanent - required to start September 2025

Salary:Scale 7, points 19 to 24 (actual salary £27,289 - £30,141) starting point 19 £27,289 or £27,646 depending on years' service and experience

Hours:37 hours a week, 40 weeks per year.

Are you ready for a new and exciting challenge and to be part of an amazing team? We have a fantastic opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic, professional and confident Deputy Head of Learning Support. You will be part of our friendly and experienced Learning Support team.

What you'll need to succeed:

Excellent communication
Strong administrative skills
A positive 'can-do' attitude and a great sense of humour!
Good organisational skills
An excellent understanding of supporting children with special educational needs.
Some of the Duties involved:

To discuss reasons for referral with relevant staff and students and set individual targets for improving learning
To conduct interviews with ECHP students and SEND support students and their parents as annual reviews of progress.
To liaise with outside agencies and attend any meetings, both in school and outside school, when required, to support the achievement and progress of students. Such meetings might take place outside school hours.
To consult with teachers to ensure an appropriate curriculum is followed by SEN students

The Boswells School is a large 11-18 secondary school that serves the area of north Chelmsford. The school is an extremely popular, over-subscribed convertor academy that enjoys an excellent reputation in the local and wider community.
