We are looking for a dedicated Foundation Governor to join our supportive and collaborative governing body.

As a voluntary aided school, foundation governors play a vital role in maintaining the ethos and values that are at the heart of our school community. They are appointed to represent the founding body of the school, to preserve the link between the school, the church and the diocese. They work closely with the headteacher and other governors to help set the strategic direction of the school, ensure high standards of achievement, and oversee financial performance.

Thegoverning body s responsible for:

· Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of theschool

· Holding theschool leaders to account for the educational performance of theschool

· Overseeing the financial performance of theschool and making sure money is well spent

The governing body is passionate about education and committed to continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

Contrary to popular thought, you do not have to be a parent or connected to the trust in some way to be a governor.

What we are interested inis the expertise and experience you can bring to the role. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who have a background in finance and a strong interest in mathematics, as these skills are valuable in supporting the school's budget planning and curriculum development in numeracy.

As a new governor you will be supported with an induction programme and have access to a range of training courses that you can select to attend to support you in your new role. You will be part of a supportive, cohesive and well balanced governing body.

Becoming a school governor is a rewarding experience and will allow you to use your skills to have a positive impact on the education of the children in the school.
