We have a vacancy for a Receptionist/Welfare Assistant to work at Henry Moore Primary School for 5 days per week.

This is a part-time, term time postbutthe successful applicant will be required to work some non-pupil days and some weeks/days in the holidays.

Responsible to the Health and Safety Co-ordinator/Pastoral Manager and the Headteacher

Hours of work are 20 hours and 30 minutes per week, as follows:

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 10am to 1.30pm

Thursday & Friday 8.45am to 1.45pm

Salary: NJC Scale 3, Point 5 - Point 6, dependent upon experience.
FTE is £25,496 - £25,889, including £706 fringe.

Actual salary, dependant on experience is £11,785.35 - £11,967.01

Start Date : As soon as possible.

Job Description

Main responsibilities -

· To administer basic first aid to pupils, staff and visitors to school.

· To administer lifesaving medication, based on the individual medical care plans.

· Front line reception duties.

· Midday Assistant Duty when necessary

· To attend to the basic personal health and welfare needs of pupils.

· Keeping staffroom tidy and clean

· Restocking toilets and cleaning when necessary

Procedures/tasks -

· Photocopying

· Laminating

· Answering telephone calls and taking messages

· Greeting visitors, supervising signing in/out

· To receive deliveries

· Medical practical and clerical

· Supervision of pupils

· Cleaning, including bodily fluids

· Admin/Clerical duties

· Any other duties required by the school

Attributes required -

· Excellent telephone manner.

· Ability to deal tactfully and confidently, ensuring that enquiries from visitors, parents, staff and pupils are dealt with confidentially.

· Numerate & Literate.

· Cheerful, polite & conscientious.

· Smart professional appearance.

· ICT skills.

· Flexibility and able to work on own initiative.

This job description does not form part of the contract of employment. It describes the way the Receptionist/Welfare assistant is expected to perform and complete the particular duties as set out above. The duties may be varied to meet the needs of the school.

The Henry Moore Primary School opened in September 2001. The school became an Academy MAT in November 2015 and a Sponsor in March 2016. It is the founding member of Harlow Inspirational Learning Trust.

Henry Moore School has 570 children on role and 94 members of staff

The Henry Moore School has been well-maintained over the years and re-modelled many times. There are nineteen classes. As well as the classrooms there are six offices, a computer suite, library, food technology room and two halls, one of which accommodates a breakfast and after school club.

The field is astro turf and is used year round for playtimes and sport. There is high fencing around the school and the site and school are accessed via electronic doors and gates. The governing body has made a commitment to modify the school where and when necessary to meet the specific needs of pupils.
