New Rickstones Academy is graded 'Good' (November 2023) and has a state of the art building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 9 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is a popular choice in the local area, is oversubscribed, and has added another new building to meet this demand.

The Art department is a welcoming, established department with a record of good outcomes at KS4. We currently offer GCSE Art and GCSE Photography. We have well equipped specialist art rooms. We have good links with the community and have been involved in many local art projects. The art department has a very successful end of year presentation showcase where we celebrate our students' hard work and success. Art is well supported within the academy and is taught as a discrete subject throughout Key Stage 3.

New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with a friendly and supportive team. Staff numbers have also increased and the academy is proud to boast high retention rates. Development is a priority with an extensive and successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme to further develop our excellent staff.

Information about the School

Lift New Rickstones is a co-educational 11–19 comprehensive school and proud member of Lift Schools. We currently have around 135 dedicated staff supporting our students.

Our facilities are modern and state-of-the-art, providing a first-class learning and working environment. The main building opened in 2012, and a new two-storey building was added in September 2022 to accommodate our rapid growth in popularity and student numbers. This success is reflected in our increased published admission number (PAN), which rose from 180 to 240 in September 2022.
