We are looking for an inspirational Head of Science to lead our dedicated department. Our excellent facilities will provide the ideal platform for you to lead, manage and develop the department, maximising student achievement and progress through a creative, relevant and challenging curriculum. This is your opportunity to shape the department's vision and implement innovative teaching strategies, ensuring that the science curriculum enables learners to:
- Share the wonder of science and be driven by curiosity.
- Develop strong practical skills by working scientifically.
- Articulate scientific concepts clearly and precisely.
- Understand the uses and implications of science today and for the future.
- Challenge received wisdom by taking into account new evidence and ideas.
- Use problem-solving skills and numeracy within scientific concepts
In your school
Maltings is a 11-16 academy based in Witham, Essex. Situated between the cities of Chelmsford and Colchester, the academy has 900 students on roll and benefits from a purpose-built building that was constructed in 2011. There are excellent transport links to London which enables our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides. Free car parking facilities are available on site.
