HR Support Officer
Scale 4, Point 7 - 8
18 hours per week, term time only.
Fixed term: 1st September 2024 to the 28th February 2025.
Job Opportunity
A unique opportunity has arisen within Hope Learning Community as Market Field School and College are currently seeking a hard-working and efficient HR Support Officer to join their well established and supportive administration team.
The ideal candidate will have some experience within a school setting, and a keen interest in developing HR skills and knowledge. Under the guidance of the HR Officer and with wider support of the Trust, this is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is looking to expand their skills or take on a new career path within the intriguing and ever-changing HR sector.
The varied role includes duties to ensure efficient and effective running of HR operations across the school and college. The role involves the organisation and processing of staff personnel and day-to-day HR queries, the assistance of processing monthly payroll, assisting with safer recruitment practices, ensuring compliance and confidentiality, and other general HR duties. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisation and time-management skills with the ability to manage workload and to meet deadlines. They will have a flexible approach to their role, a key attention to detail and a positive, solution-focused attitude, with a keen desire to expand their knowledge and experience.
The successful candidate will work to support the current HR Officer for the School and College and will be the first point of contact for all HR queries.
Working hours/days can be negotiated for the right candidate.
Initially the position is offered as a 6-month fixed term contract, however, there may be opportunities to extend after this period.

Market Field School and College has been enhancing the lives of students (and their families) with wide-ranging strengths and needs for over 40 years. We moved into a purpose built, specialist environment in 2015 and are fortunate to benefit from a suite of facilities to enrich the quality of provision for our students. With over 500 students and rising, we are one of the biggest special schools in Essex and each day is very different from the day before!
