Permanent School Business Manager

Contracted hours: 37 hours (term time + INSET days + 3 weeks)

Salary: Scale 9 point 29-33 (FTE £37,336 - £41,418)

Required: September 2024

We are looking to appoint an experienced and appropriately qualified School Business Manager, with the vision and drive to implement effective systems. This is a strategic leadership position which requires an excellent knowledge of school finance systems and financial management of the school budget, including finance reporting to the LA, HT and governors. You will need to have an excellent understanding of HR, payroll and health and safety. The post holder will be responsible for leading the office team, site staff and some support staff so strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential.

Main areas of responsibility will include:

· Lead and manage the school's finances, including budget setting and monitoring.

· Manage the school's contracts and premises; overseeing maintenance and improvement programmes.

· Be responsible for HR functions within the schools, payroll submissions, and recruitment.

· Ensure accurate financial, HR and training records are maintained

· Complete and submit statutory financial returns.

· Advise the SLT and Governors on all financial, premises and HR matters.

· Line manage office, catering staff and premises team including appraisal.
