Position Type: Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Hours: 37 hrs per week (Term Time only)
Salary: Essex School's Pay Scale - Scale 2 Spine Point 4 - actual starting salary £19,904 (including fringe but excluding pending 2024 pay award)
Working Pattern: 8:15-4:15 Monday to Thursday and 8:15 - 3:45 Friday
Chapel Hill Primary School, the sister school to the Outstanding Lee Chapel Primary School, is opening in September 2024 and is looking to appoint an experienced Receptionist/Administrative Assistant for their brand new office. Once all year groups are admitted, the school will be 2-form entry with 420 pupils, however it will be opening at a reduced capacity in September 2024.
Under the direction and guidance of Lee Chapel's Office Manager, the successful candidate will undertake the following duties:-
- Be the first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries, taking and passing on messages as required
- Monitoring morning and afternoon attendance via on-line registers on SIMS and cross-referring to Studybugs where necessary
- Contacting parents to establish whereabouts of absent children who have not been reported absent
- Answering basic admissions queries and referring any more complex mattersto the Admissions Officer
- Monitoring the "admin" e-mail account and dealing with/passing on e-mails as appropriate
- Dealing with School Money queries and taking payments
- Photocopying of exam papers
- General clerical and admin duties as required
- Checking-off deliveries
- Administering First Aid to pupils
We are looking for a candidate:
- With solid office administrative experience (school office experience preferable but not essential)
- With solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and SIMS (SIMS experience preferable but not essential)
- With excellent communication skills and a welcoming, positive outlook
- Who is efficient, versatile and able to work on their own initiative
- Who has an excellent telephone manner & can record and pass on accurate messages
- Who is able to prioritise their own work load & plan effectively
- Who can remain calm under pressure and have a positive and sunny disposition
- Who is confident to administer first aid to pupils
Full training will be given to the successful candidate at Lee Chapel Primary School, prior to the opening of the new school. Training dates to be confirmed.
