Hours: 18.75 hours per week - term time (38 weeks per year) - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 8:30 am to 3:15 pm

Salary: LGPS Scale 3 pt 4 £18,933 per annum - Actual Salary £7,968

Fixed Term contract ending on 31st August 2021.

We are an OFSTED rated GOOD school (June 2019), looking to recruit a dynamic and energetic team member to start with us in January 2021.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • available to work between 8.30am to 3.15pm on Wednesdays through to Fridays.
  • new to the Learning Support Assistant role or experienced
  • passionate and driven in motivating pupils to achieve their best
  • driven to support any year group across our School, with a particular interest in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage One.
  • flexible, a good team player, prepared to work hard and respond positively to the challenges of day to day school life
  • an active participant to promote our school's vision, values and Christian distinctivenes

Dr Walker’s Church of England Primary School is a small village Voluntary Controlled community school, in the heart of Fyfield, Ongar. We might be small, but have a lot to offer!

We are a creative school, where pupils are supported to become the best they can be. Pupils access the curriculum through additional fun activities such as dressing up days, hatching ducks, circus workshops, visiting zoo, residentials, initiatives, etc. and where appropriate participation in sporting events with local schools. Our school website evidences all our fun activities in the weekly newsletters (do have a look at how we are having fun, whilst learning!).

Our school aims to be An Exceptional Place to Flourish, where we work together to grow, progress, achieve and develop to become well-balanced British and global citizens; aspiring to live a life in all its fullness and to succeed. Our associated Christian Values aligned with the fundamental British Values.

The school has had a number of improvements over the last two years, inclusive of: • The building of two new classrooms (with aircon) • new playground multi-sports markings • multi-sports goalposts • an adventure trail • classrooms have been re-decorated • new access to KS2 classrooms • EYFS has had a make-over (inside and out!) and • new fencing to secure the school’s main entrance.
