Your NQT Year in Essex

Essex offers many opportunities to NQTs looking for their first teaching post.

We are looking for people with ability and imagination who will inspire and challenge our children to achieve their potential and contribute to their changing world.  Essex schools recruit approximately 800 NQTs each year, so there is plenty of scope to find your first teaching post in the County.

To apply, just click here to register your details and create a profile; you can then use the profile to apply for posts advertised on the website which are suitable for NQTs.  Your profile will be visible to Essex schools, so they can view it when searching for suitable candidates for vacant teaching posts they wish to fill.  You can also amend and add to your online application as your knowledge and experience increase.

Essex offers an extensive induction and professional support programme for NQTs and has a wide range of CPD courses for new and experienced teachers.  All NQTs and their induction tutors are provided with a range of support materials including a comprehensive Professional Development Portfolio to guide you through the induction process and your early career development.

With over 450 maintained schools in the County, there is ample opportunity to develop your career if you wish to do so without needing to move far.

Incentives available to teachers in maintained schools include the Homebuy schemes run by Moat Housing Group and resettlement grant of up to £750 for secondary NQTs who need to move at least forty miles to take up their teaching post in Essex.
