Learning Support Assistant up to 30 hours per week (8:30am - 3:30pm)
Pay scale:Scale 4 point 6-7
Required September2020
Fixed Term contract for 1 year with the possibility of being permanent
The Governors of Great Dunmow Primary school are seeking to appoint an LSA to work with a pupil with specific needs (ASD). Experience of working with children with ASD in a school environment is an advantage. We are a friendly, happy and caring school and are looking for a candidate who will contribute to our very effective learning environment.
We are looking for someone who has:
¨ Been educated to GCSE level in English and Maths and if possible a relevant LSA training qualification
- Experience of working in a school environment
- Experience of working with children with ASD
¨ A caring and sensitive approach
¨ A patient and positive attitude, along with a good sense of humour
¨ Good communication skills, patience and being motivated to encourage pupils to achieve to the best of their ability
You will be expected to:
¨ Take some responsibility for the care and progress of an identified pupil
¨ Undertake training as required
¨ Keep up to date with changes and developments in education relevant to the role
¨ Carry out possible lunchtime duties
¨ Work in collaboration with other colleagues
