We have a rare and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to share your expertise modern foreign languages across a large group of local schools within The Sigma Trust.

As the Strategic Lead for MFL you will:

· Further improve standards within language teaching across The Sigma Trust;

· Work with schools to increase the take-up of MFL subjects at GCSE;

· Contribute to an increase in the numbers of students opting to study languages at Sixth and beyond as part of our Sigma Sixth developments;

· Work with the primary schools to create a common platform for teaching MFL;

· Ensure that our vision that "best practice becomes shared practice" is fully evident within all MFL teams;

· Ensure consistency across the Trust in the implementation of agreed policies and procedures;

· Create opportunities for joint working through a planned programme of events.

As the Strategic Lead for MFL you will join the team of Strategic Leads in other subject areas who work across all of our academies providing support and challenge as required for two days per week. The remaining three days will be spent teaching within your base school which could be any of the schools within the Trust. This will be agreed with the successful candidate and will be based on need and locality, all Sigma schools are geographically close to each other.

You will support and advise subject leaders and senior staff on the development of your subject across all phases. The role will require a practitioner with a diverse skillset, exceptional knowledge of curriculum frameworks and first-rate leadership skills.The team of Strategic Leads is line managed by the Deputy CEO and supported by the Director of Education for the Trust.
