Teacher - Sport/Public Services/Policing

Salary: Qualified Teacher* up to £40,492

Unqualified Teacher up to £32,079 per annum

Located in Harlow

Full time

Permanent

Do you have a background in the Sport and PE, Police Force, Armed Forces, Paramedic or other Public Services? Are you considering a career change? Then we have the career opportunity for you. Harlow College is recruiting to our Public Services/Sport team; apply now as we build the future, "one student at a time".

About the team

The Sport & Public Services team delivers courses which are a mixture of theory and practical units, designed to provide our students with a detailed understanding of the Sport and Public Services industries. Our courses help our students to develop key generic 'life' skills, which would strengthen an application for a variety of roles and careers. We have also recently introduced our new Policing pathway at level 3.

About the role

As a flexible, creative and pro-active professional you'll be expected to use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning initiatives that engage, motivate and enable all learners to make significant progress from their starting points. You will also be working to address individual learning needs, overcome barriers to learning and encourage autonomous learning.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will ideally have a Degree, or other relevant qualification and or with significant industrial experience.

You don't need to have a qualification in teaching, just a passion for your specialism, strong communication skills and be willing to train on the job, as we will support staff to undertake a teaching or assessing qualification, if not already held.

Ideally you should have:

  • Full driving licence
  • First Aid qualification
  • Flexible working attitude
  • Willing to support educational visits & enrichment activities

What we can offer

The successful candidate can expect investment in their personal and professional development as well as an excellent benefits package including 42 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

If you are looking to work within a challenging and fast paced organisation whereby we believe all our people, both staff and students, have the potential to succeed in whatever they set their minds to then this is the role for you.
