Learning Support Assistant (Key Stage 2)

Pay Range: Scale 3 (£18,933-£19,312) (plus £898 Inner Fringe) pro rata

Actual Pay: £14,293-£14,568

Hours/weeks: 31.25 hours per week/39 weeks

Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:15pm/30-minute lunch break

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team. The successful candidate should ideally have a depth of knowledge and experience supporting SEND as well as the ability to work well as part of a team. Duties will include:

  • Working with small groups of pupils of all abilities including SEND pupils
  • Providing intervention support
  • Recording progress of pupils against interventions
  • Reviewing Personal learning plans including behaviour plans
  • Working alongside the Class Teacher to write and implement Personal Learning Plans with support from the SENCO
  • Carry out specific assessments as requested.
  • Break and lunchtime duties

The ideal applicant MUST have:

  • Experience of working within a primary school with agood knowledge of KS2
  • Deep understanding of supporting children with additional needs
  • Maths and English at GCSE level with at least a grade C
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience of supporting pupils with emotional difficulties
  • Experience of Emotional Literacy Support, GROW model or similar would be advantageous
