Assistant Facilities Manager

Pay Range: Local Government Scale 5 (Point 8-11)

Salary from: £20,493

The Role

The Colne Community School and College is an expanding school with a dedicated site team. We are looking to recruit an aspirational Assistant Facilities Manager who has the necessary skills and organisational abilities to help maintain the school groups.

The position will suit a pragmatic and organised individual with experience maintaining a large site and dealing with maintenance and repairs.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Be responsible for undertaking in- house remedial work to reduce overheads (to include glazing, decorating, carpentry or minor electrical work).
  • Ensure facilities are available as necessary for all after school events.
  • Take responsibility whilst walking the site to rectify report & manage any risks.
  • Patrol the exterior of the school premises to ensure the fences and gates are secure and repair damage as required.

  • Strong communication abilities using a friendly and inclusive manner.
  • Initiative and ability to work without direct supervision, taking responsibility for tasks, prioritising and scheduling your own work.

This post is 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year on a shift basis. Hours may be variable to suit the needs of the job and include a split shift, AM and PM working pattern.
