ICT Technician
Requires April 2022 or ASAP
37 hours per week /Monday to Friday
Full Time / Permanent
We are looking to appoint a reliable, positive, enthusiastic ICT Technician to join our friendly team here at The Boswells school.This is a full time position, 37 hours a week.
Some of the duties for this post include:
- Undertake day to day maintenance (including changing printer cartridges, projector bulbs, remotes, etc) and repair of ICT equipment.
- To maintain computer files by updating/deleting information asappropriate.
- Ensure that ICT systems, procedures and assets are documented, and that movement of assets is controlled and centralised and the helpdesk inventory is kept up to date
- Perform software installation and pre installation testing and maintenance.
- To ensure the delivery and maintenance of the standard desktop image, providing a timely reimaging process
- Support with ICT equipment disposal, ensuring that this is carried out in accordance with the school and statutory guidelines.
- Assist with the installation, configuration and upgrading of all school ICT equipment and resources.
- To support with the setting up of equipment for both curricular and extra-curricular activities such as assemblies, training sessions.
- Maintain satisfactory standards of health, safety and security, at all times, when working with staff, students and equipment.
Successful candidates will need to have:
- A good understanding of IT systems/usage and a willingness to further develop
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take the lead where required
- Ability to innovate and see potential in future solutions
- Ability to provide timely and accurate information

The Boswells School is a large 11-18 secondary school that serves the area of north Chelmsford. The school is an extremely popular, over-subscribed convertor academy that enjoys an excellent reputation in the local and wider community.
