A great opportunity has arisen for a specialist behaviour support assistant to work with children with social and emotional wellbeing needs in an innovative provision based at Monkwick Junior School in Colchester.

GROW is an alternative education provision for a small number of children in KS1 or KS2 who are not progressing in school because of the barriers caused by behaviour, emotional or social needs. GROW provides each child with a personalised curriculum for their individual needs. This is monitored and reviewed carefully. Children work within the designated GROW learning space and within an identified mainstream class (when approprite) in the main school. More information about GROW can be found at www.growessex.uk.

If you have the skills and previous experience this may be for you. You will definitely need to have bags of energy, patience and resilience to be able to work in a small team. You will receive a full induction into the role, ongoing training and support for this rewarding work.

GROW are based at schools across Essex and for the Learning Pathways Trust at Lyons Hall Primary, Braiswick Primary, White Hall Academy and Monkwick Junior School.

In the first instance you can contact Trudie Spiller (tspiller@learningpathways.org.uk) to get further information regarding the job description and details. Contracts are initially for a fixed term until August 2023 in line with the current funding.

Information about the School

Braiswick Primary is the third school of the Learning Pathways Academy Trust which also includes Lyons Hall Primary in Braintree and White Hall Academy in Clacton-On-Sea. Our school, alongside the other schools in the Trust, aims to inspire our children to achieve well, have very high aspirations and to be valuable, well-rounded and happy members of their community.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
