Nursery Practitioner (Level 3)
Scale 4
Term Time only
We are delighted to announce that our brand-new purpose-built nursery, along with its own outside area, will be opening in September 2021. Therefore, a wonderful opportunity to join our EYFS team, as a Nursery Practitioner, has arisen.
At Canvey Island Infant School, we like to think our school is rather special, understandably, and we're not the only ones who think so. Ofsted has rated the school 'good' since Ofsted began and gave us a glowing report in 2019.
We pride ourselves on our imaginative curriculum and vibrant learning environment that reflects the very caring nature of the school. This is evident in the behaviour of our children who are kind, caring, thoughtful and who thoroughly enjoy coming to school. We are proud to call ourselves an 'inclusive' school, where everyone works hard to ensure that pupils, whatever their starting point, receive stimulating learning experiences. There is a tangible sense of team spirit that permeates the school and the enrichment activities encourage learning, which is evident in the children's personal development and achievement.
The successful candidate will have:
- Level 3 qualification in childcare such as NNEB, CACHE, NVQ, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent
- Paediatric First Aid training (desirable)
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
- Previous experience of working with young children
- A good sense of initiative
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively as a team member
The job role will include assisting the Nursery Teacher to:
- Plan exciting learning activities
- Prepare the learning environment for each session
Other duties will include:
- Undertake the role of keyworker for a group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met
- Attending training and meetings as required
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged. However, due to the current restrictions, these will need to be at the end of the school day.
Please contact the school for further information or to arrange a visit.
This application is subject to satisfactory references, CRB and medical checks. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
