Catering Manager

25 hours per week
Term time plus two weeks' holiday cleaning (total 40 weeks per year)
Scale 5 Points 8-11
£10.62 - £11.27 per hour
£20,493-£21,748 pro rata (actual gross salary £12,109.82-£12,851.43)

Do you enjoy cooking healthy nutritious meals from scratch? Would you like the opportunity of building the school meals provision within a brand-new school with outstanding new catering facilities?
The Role:
With the support of our external catering adviser and the Trust catering mentor, this role is a unique opportunity to grow and develop your own kitchen within a newly opened and growing school.
Initially you will be providing meals for our reception pupils only, working from menus already produced by the school meals adviser.
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen including all daily checks, stock rotation, ordering etc. along with stock takes, experience of this is desirable however, full training will be provided.
Previous experience in cooking for large numbers for example family, restaurant or school kitchen is desirable. We are looking for somebody who can prepare healthy, balanced meals from scratch within a set time frame.
Support and training will be provided in order to develop your skills in budget management, stocktaking etc.

Information about the School
Lakelands Primary School is a brand new primary school that opened in September 2020 with state of the art facilities in Stanway, Colchester. Year on year the school will grow, providing 420 places for local children between four and eleven years old by 2026. At Lakelands Primary School we are creating a new school where children can thrive and flourish and fulfil their potential.
