A rare opportunity has become available to lead a Federation of two well established Church of England Schools based in South Essex. St. Nicholas CofE Primary School is based in Rayleigh with 142 pupils on roll and Canewdon Endowed CofE Primary School has 110 pupils.

The Federation Governors are seeking to appoint an exceptional Executive Leader in these popular schools to build on the successes of the previous Executive Headteacher and lead both schools through the next stages of development.

Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate they are ready to:

  • Show strong leadership that consistently strives to achieve the best for all within each school community and across the federation as a whole
  • Have a clear vision and strong commitment to the Church of England values
  • Use resources, intellect, creativity and innovation to be successful
  • Be passionately committed to safeguarding and the welfare and wellbeing of children and staff

Whilst visits to the school will not be possible due to Covid-19 restrictions, we would warmly welcome you getting in touch before applying. Please email the Chair of Governors at chairofgovernors@rawreth.essex.sch.uk to arrange a telephone or video call at a mutually convenient time.

Information about the School

St. Nicholas and Canewdon are a federation of two schools. We value the individuality of each school; whilst we also believe that it is vital that we share expertise and resources effectively in order to survive and thrive as small schools. The successful candidate will be expected to work across the federation and travel between schools when necessary.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
