Assistant Cook Required September

20 hours a week, term-time only

Scale 3, point 4-5

We are seeking an Assistant Cook to work in our busy school kitchens, preparing fresh home-cooked food for our pupils, alongside our Catering Manager, Cook and catering assistants.

We are a large school of approximately 700 pupils and serve around 400 hot lunches each day. This is an important role which, with the support of a catering manager and catering team, involves catering across two kitchens in our recently amalgamated school. Candidates must have kitchen and cooking experience and enjoy working as part of a team. Training will be available for the right candidate.

Healthy food is an important part of our whole school ethos and the post holder can expect to work as part of a committed school team. Are you passionate about great food? If so, come and be part of this friendly, successful school.

Visits to the school are welcomed. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and expect all staff and volunteers to support this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure certificate.

Information about the School

In September 2018, Brightlingsea Infant School & Nursery and Brightlingsea Junior School became Brightlingsea Primary School and Nursery. We are a large Primary School, taking children from 2 to 11 years, with a three form entry and approximately 750 children on roll. This is an exciting time for our school and we are looking to further improve outcomes for our children and families. As a large school we are able to offer some exciting opportunities for staff: we recognise the importance of professional development and believe in investing in staff to help us to achieve our vision.

We are an inclusive school and strive to deliver a fully accessible social and academic curriculum. Our aim is for all pupils to achieve their full potential. We provide a welcoming, caring and supportive environment, which allows children to develop socially, emotionally and academically. All our staff play an important part in children's development. Parents are actively encouraged to take a vested interest in the school, so that together, school, parents and children can work together in partnership.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
