Learning Support Assistant
Salary and range: Thurrock Band A, £12,385.46 - £13,672.70 (actual salary)
Working hours: 30 hours per week, 08:10am - 15:10pm Monday - Friday
One hour unpaid break
43.8 weeks per year, term time only.
(Two week October half term)
Start date: September 2020
We have an exciting opportunity for alearning support assistantto join our new school. Thames Park Secondary School is a brand new free school that will be opening in Grays, Essex in September 2020, initially year 7 intake only increasing to 5 year groups within 5 years. Thames Park Secondary School will be a member of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust. All schools in the Trust work in equal partnership and are members of the Schools' Co-operative Society.
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational, enthusiastic, and flexible Learning Support Assistant to take on a crucial role within our school. The successful candidate should be keen to make a difference to the life chances of Thames Park children.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:-
- The ability to communicate with other members of staff effectively
- The ability to build a strong professional relationship with the pupils and their families
- A willingness to take part in class planning and adapt it to the needs of the pupil where applicable
- Good organisational skills
- Good behaviour management skills
- Good basic English and Mathematics
- The ability to communicate with parents and to attend professional meetings where required
- Good record keeping skills (Progress and medical where required)
- A passion for the impact teaching and learning can have on improving life
- A commitment to delivering education of the highest standard
The successful candidate will preferably have relevant NVQ qualifications or equivalent. They must have a good standard of English and Mathematics and basic computer skills.
