INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE CURRICULUM MANAGER
Management Allowance TLR 1C £11,473 pa
Required from January or Easter 2020, I.B. Curriculum Manager.
A rare and unique opportunity has arisen to take on the leadership of the International Baccalaureate and its programmes in this UK state comprehensive school. The school has offered the Diploma since 1973 and was the first state school to do so. It was also the first to offer the IB Career Programme (IBCP) in 2010. Our mission is to provide an international education, underpinned by the IB mission and Learner Profile (see attached), through a broad, balanced and enriched education. The successful candidate will lead and manage the IB Diploma, supporting this cohort of students and managing the IBCP Co-ordinator and CAS Co-ordinator. He/she will also oversee the development of the IB philosophy throughout the school in order to make IB courses in the Sixth Form more of a natural choice. The successful candidate will report to our Director of Sixth Form in developing our outstanding Sixth Form curriculum offer.
The Anglo European School is a comprehensive school with a curriculum informed by a strong international dimension. The school also offers the National Curriculum of England and Wales as well as Advanced levels (A levels) in the sixth form. Students can also choose a combination of IB subjects with A levels. Baccalaureate principles inform all aspects of the school's provision and we are a pilot school for the National Baccalaureate for England.
The Sixth Form itself is outstanding with overall progress consistently exceeding national averages, but especially on the IB Diploma with value added scores in the top 15% nationally. Student destinations include a range of high tariff universities across the UK, but distinctively also at institutions all around the world.
All members of the school's staff support the unique aims and ethos of the school and participate in the extensive visits and exchanges programme.
