The Science Faculty has had a significant investment over recent years including £550,000 refurbishment of our 10 Science laboratories equipped with the latest technologies including interactive whiteboards, teaching wall and teacher's demonstration area. There is also a team of 4 specialist Technicians who provide full technician support, particularly in the preparation and cleaning/clearing of lesson materials. The Science team are very supportive of each other and, together with new team members this academic year, a highly experienced one, but also where the members are keen to further develop their practice to support student progress and continue to develop this curriculum area.

During Years' 7 to 9, students study all three areas of Science and in Years 10-to 11 they study each specialism individually; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The aim is to ensure they have a solid grounding preparing them for GCSE. Students who are part of the KES Sixth Form are able to study A Levels in Biology, Chemistry or Physics, as well as a BTEC in Applied Science.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to accept new ideas and a thorough commitment to student learning with evidence of high level of subject specialism and professional development, as well as a flexible and adaptable attitude to meet the needs of the school. We want staff with the vision and determination to ensure all our students receive a first class education and who will rise to the challenge of building on success.
