Term time + Non pupil days 39 weeks

Developing excellence of character is really important at Honywood. We believe that cultivating the right habits and virtues is key to leading a happy and successful life. We call that building Moral Capital. Moral Capital is one of six capitals that run through our school curriculum. Central to Moral Capital is our Respect Code: a core part of the ethos at our school. We believe in respecting ourselves, others and the world around us. Like all schools, the journey to achieving this is never simple. Behaviour can never be corrected by simple sanctions - we believe that intervention and support is needed if we are to help learners who have trouble meeting our expectations and Respect Code.

We are seeking to appoint an Intervention Lead to assist with our work around behaviour and character development. We are introducing a new approach to following up with learner behaviour this year to support us in avoiding sanctions such as exclusions. The Intervention Lead will be crucial in working with learners who have broken the Respect Code. They will spend time working with learners who have been isolated from school for a fixed period to correct their behaviour before they go back into lessons.

Has this piqued your interest? Do you want to help our learners to live through our Respect Code? Do you believe in getting to know the individual? Are you dedicated to supporting children overcome challenges? If this sounds like a place where you would like to work and a role that you would like to make your own, we would love to hear from you.

We offer:

● A high achieving Academy producing excellent outcomes and well-rounded children.

● An approach based on shared responsibility and teamwork, which values every member of our community.

● A challenging learning environment where you will be asked to expand your thinking about the education we offer our young people.

● Excellent induction and outstanding on-going staff development

You will need:

● Minimum Grade C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths

● The ability to work independently and with initiative

● The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with learners, staff, parents/carers and families

● An aptitude for working under pressure and an appreciation for confidentiality

● The ability to use IT systems effectively to handle data, produce reports and record information accurately

● An understanding of the challenges young people face that can affect their behaviour

● The flexibility to attend meetings outside of school hours

● A full driving licence with access to a vehicle would be desired
