Job Description

Due to the retirement of the existing post holder we are seeking to appoint a high quality, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of Art to lead our dedicated and already successful department.

You will lead a department with a contemporary and forward thinking approach to the subject in our purpose built dedicated Art building. You will have the opportunity to teach across the full age and ability range. Art has a healthy and growing uptake at both GCSE and A level with students consistently achieve outstanding results. Participation in the Arts is positively encouraged and there is a broad range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities including our Annual Arts festival week and participation in numerous community Arts projects. You will enjoy working with our motivated, well-behaved pupils and with a supportive and hard-working staff in this highly respected over-subscribed 11 - 18 mixed comprehensive school.

The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. A strong classroom practitioner with and the ability to enthuse and motivate students to achieve their very best. The vacancy would suit an ambitious teacher of Art or existing Departmental Head seeking a new opportunity
