Would you like to make a difference to the lives of young people who have faced trauma and rejection?
Would you like to work as part of a team of people who are passionate about equipping young people and committed to supporting them to change, grow and succeed?
Would you enjoy the challenge of being part of an independent alternative provision at the start of its journey to becoming an outstanding school?
Open Box Education Centre is a small independent Alternative Provision School providing a KS4 curriculum for students aged 14-16 for whom a mainstream school placement has not been possible or appropriate. Our small team of dedicated, caring and professional staff provide full-time education and therapeutic services for up to 20 students with complex SEMH needs to help them grow in confidence, trust and self-esteem and experience success in their last years of secondary school.
We are now looking for a skilled, dedicated and caring Business Studies teacher, to teach smallgroups of 3-4 students as they study GCSEs and Functional Skills.
What we can offer you:
- The chance to be part of a developing Alternative Provision school that is dedicated to supporting young people who have experienced trauma, rejection and exclusion by providing opportunities for achievement, acceptance as part of a community and hope for the future.
- A significant role in a caring, professional and collaborative small team of staff who are dedicated and committed to the success and welfare of students with SEMH needs.
- A small, busy, friendly, supportive and caring working environment.
This is an exciting time to join our team as we grow and develop innovative ways to meet the complex needs of vulnerable and challenging young people and the increasing local demand for high quality alternative provision.
We welcome visits from prospective candidates. To arrange a visit, contact the Principal, Alison Dolan, via email: adolan@openboxeducation.org.uk or call on 01992 577 300.
This post is paid at M1-M6 and attracts an SEN allowance. We will also consider candidates who wish to apply for a full-time post offering an additional subject.
