Teaching Assistant

We are looking to appoint an experienced and inspiring teaching assistant to support KS2 pupils in their learning. This is a fixed term, term time only post for 26 hours 15 minutes per week commencing as soon as possible from 1st September 2018 to 31st August 2019. The rate of pay for this post is Local Government Salary Band 2 Point 11 to 14.

The successful candidate will support the Classroom Teacher in the teaching and management of pupils in the classroom and playground, establishing good relationships with pupils and acting as a role model for them.

You must have relevant experience and a minimum of English and mathematics at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent.

Key activities of the Teaching Assistant includes

  • Supporting pupils in undertaking literacy, numeracy and other learning tasks
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons
  • Undertaking pupil record keeping
  • Promoting good pupil behaviourEncouraging pupils to work independently and with others as appropriate
