Learning Support Assistant
(Temporary for two terms until 31 December 2018)

33 hours 20 minutes per week

5 days per week, 44.3 weeks per year

Band 2 (Points 11- 16) Actual Salary at point 11: £13,016

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and capable LSA who is able to support a pupil in Y8 with his personal and social skill development.

The job will include supporting the pupil in lessons as well as during unstructured times such as break and lunchtime. There will an expectation that you will attend relevant training courses to continue to support him appropriately.

The successful appointee must be able to build a suitable relationship with a Y8 boy and deliver support programmes recommended by other staff or outside agencies.

Information about the School

Kingswode Hoe is a special school for pupils with complex learning difficulties. We take pupils aged between 5 and 16 (Y1 - Y11) living in the Colchester area. All pupils are admitted to the school by the Statutory Assessment team of Essex Local Authority based at Essex House in Colchester. We are currently funded for 151 places.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
