We are looking to appoint a full time Learning Support Assistant, term time only, for a Year 6child with Type 1 Diabetes. This is intially a fixed contract until 31/08/18.
Experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. The candidate must have a warm personality to be able to support this child with her health needs. They must be willing to take part in training, liaise with parents, keep methodical records and follow medical protocols.
Successful candidates will develop this child's ability tomonitor and medicate her condition and will be mindful to promote positive self-esteem.They will also be sensitive to the needs of the child and other children in the class.
Successful candidates will be flexible, able to work as part of a team and confident to liaise with outside agencies. They will also be expected to support this child on a four night residential trip. Supervision of after school clubs would also be advantageous.
