The Governors at Dilkes Academy are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Headteacher to lead our highly motivated team in our Outstanding school (Ofsted, April 2012) and a National Teaching School since 2013. We are seeking a dynamic Headteacher with exceptionally high expectations for learning and driving a school forward with a happy disposition. We are looking for candidates that have a strong track record in school improvement and raising standards.
The school sets high standards for the quality of teaching. The successful candidate will need to continue to support and lead this work ensuring the provision for outstanding professional development including opportunities for outreach through the Teaching School and Catalyst Academies Trust and ITT support work is maintained.
We are a happy, vibrant school which you will see clearly when you visit and recent building work has enhanced the quality of the learning environment for all pupils.
Our new Headteacher will:
• have a proven track record of leading the development of high quality teaching and learning in the primary phase
• be able to demonstrate determination, imagination and commitment to sustained improvement
• have experience in enhancing the quality of teaching
• have the highest expectations for the learning, achievement and behaviour of all children
• be able to nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils and staff alike
• be able to maintain and strengthen links with parents, governors and the wider community.

Information about the School
Our pupils are aged 3 – 11, ranging from Nursery to Year 6, and mainly live in the area surrounding the school.
At Dilkes we want our children to be happy, confident and to share a passion for learning. We help them to achieve highly and make outstanding progress.
We value every child and ensure that we foster the individuality of their interests and experiences. Our bespoke curriculum is carefully planned to enable us to teach all the National Curriculum subjects in a creative and inspiring way. We engage children in a range of activities that enable them to develop their knowledge and skills, and equip them for life beyond school.
We are very proud of the achievements of our pupils, and this pride is echoed by the pupils themselves. We strive to continue to build on the outstanding provision that Dilkes Academy offers.
