In February 2016 Hylands School was recognised by the DfE as one of the top 100 non-selective schools in terms of 'sustained improvement in the percentage of pupils achieving 5 or more A*-C grades (including English and Maths)' and we wish to recruit additional staff to ensure that we can build on this significant achievement.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Office Supervisor to be part of our successful, hardworking, dedicated, supportive and friendly office team. As Office Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to the day-to-day management of the main school office to ensure smooth and efficient service is provided to all those who use or work in the school. The successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent organisational skills and have the ability to work sensitively, collaboratively, enthusiastically, calmly and effectively under pressure in order to be responsible for the management of the administrative function of the school, ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient service. The central aspect of the role is to oversee the distribution of work in the office and monitor the workloads of other office staff, anticipating high demands and ensuring all aspects of the administration of the school are fulfilled; including all reprographic requests. The successful candidate needs to have a careful eye for detail and be rigorous in ensuring that the work produced by the office is of a consistently high standard. There are a number of other specific duties that will be executed by office supervisor such as providing administrative support to the extended leadership team of the school. Other duties are detailed in the job description.

Ideal candidates will have:

Experience of a busy school office
Strong oral and written communication skills
Be an excellent team leader
Ability to use office programs and software with confidence
Some experience of SIMS
A strong commitment to providing a high quality service
A genuine belief in the potential of every pupil.
