Teaching Assistant - EAL Band 3 pro-rata

28.75 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus non-pupil days and holiday pay.

Are you enthusiastic, passionate, driven, have high standards and love working with children?

We are looking to appoint a caring, friendly and energetic Teaching Assistant to join our highly professional team. The successful candidate will receive support and training.

To become part of this team it would be advantageous if you have experience of working with children and previous experience of working with EAL children would be preferred. An understanding of cultural diversity would be desirable.

  • You will be conscientious and enthusiastic at all times.
  • You will be positive and motivational.
  • You will have strong communication skills and the ability to develop English alongside the child's home language.
  • You will need to be educated to the equivalent of NVQ Level 2 in literacy and numeracy in order to be able to support our children.

You will be expected to; ·

  • Take some responsibility for the progress of EAL pupils.
  • Help to organise the classroom to create a positive learning environment.
  • To motivate pupils.
  • To work with others to plan, coordinate and adapt work to meet the needs of the learners.
  • To stay up to date with changes and developments.
  • To take part in school events and activities.
  • To be patient, empathetic, and have an ability to build rapport with children, creating a safe teaching environment.
  • Work 30 minutes per day at lunchtimes
