We would like to appoint an Admin Assistant to support the work of our School Office Manager in running our small and busy School Office. We are a small, friendly Primary School with a wonderful school community. We are in the village of Birchanger on the Herts/Essex border near Bishops Stortford.
As part of the school's administrative team, you will act as the first point of contact for telephone and face to face enquiries supporting staff, students and parents and will represent the school in a professional and friendly manner.
You will also take responsibility for a variety of operational admin tasks to deliver efficient administrative systems and processes and to provide a welcoming and supportive service in our School Reception.
The main aspects of the role will be maintaining our communications on the school website, carrying out the admin of the school clubs and working closely with our catering staff to compile the numbers for the school lunches. Daily lunch duty is part of the role. During this time, the role will be to supervise pupils during the lunch break and encouraging a range of games and activities.
The hours for this role are as follows:
Part Time ~ Monday ~ Friday 08:30am ~ 1:00pm (22.5 hours per week) during term time.
Full Time ~ Monday ~ Friday 08:30am ~ 3:15pm with lunch duty to take place from 12:00noon ~ 1:00pm
The post is Scale 4 point 7 (7 ~ 8) of Local Government Pay scale.
The successful candidate will have:
· Have a good standard of maths & English & excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Be flexible, able to use initiative and prioritise workload.
· Be able to work effectively with parents, staff, and children in a positive and professional manner.
· Have experience of general admin, data entry and IT systems and finance work
· Be willing to undertake relevant training.
The person appointed will be able to work using their own initiative and to provide an efficient and effective administrative service for the school.
