We are looking for acompassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive team and support children withcomplexSEND needswithin our Early Years and Key Stage 1 settings. You willwork on a 1:1 basis with childrenin aSENDspaceandwill form part of a collaborative andforward-thinkinginclusion team.This role is fixed term linked to the child who is currently in reception.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SENDto help them access and enjoy apersonalised curriculumunder the direction of theSENDco.
Assistthe inclusion teamin planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
Implement planned learning activities, adapting them as needed to suit pupil responses.
Promote inclusion within the classroom and beyond, ensuring all children can access learning.
Record observations and progress to help inform planning.
Provide support with children's social, emotional, and welfare needs (including minor first aidand intimate care).
Adapt approaches to meet individual needs.
Observe, monitor, and record progress, feeding back to class teachers and the SENCo.
Foster a positive,nurturingandinclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe and valued.
Work closely with parents, teachers, and external professionals to support children's development.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience working with young children, particularly those withadditionalneedsand children with ASD.
Be confident working 1:1 and using their initiative to adapt support to the child's needs.
Build strong partnerships with colleagues and families to ensure consistent support.
Have a positive attitude, good sense of humour, and a creative approach to learning.
Be enthusiastic, patient, and able to makelearning fun and engaging.
A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs support is desirable.
Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. GCSE Grades A-C in Maths and English.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every childthrive.
