We have a wonderful opportunity to join our friendly and inclusive two-form entry primary school. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for an autistic child during the mornings.
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCo, you will support the child to access learning, develop independence and feel happy, safe and included in school.
We are looking for someone who is:
- warm, patient, caring and nurturing;
- able to build a positive and trusting relationship with the child;
- enthusiastic, committed and willing to learn;
- able to support communication, emotional regulation and engagement with learning;
- committed to helping the child feel included, develop independence and have their individual needs understood and supported; and
- able to work positively as part of our supportive team.
Previous experience of supporting autistic children or children with SEND is welcomed; however, most important to us is finding the right person: someone who is caring, committed and able to build a positive, trusting relationship with the child.
A visit to our school is strongly encouraged. This will provide an opportunity to meet our SENCo, find out more about the role and experience our school community. Please contact Natalie Jamieson to arrange a visit or request an application pack.
