Berlesduna Academy Trust has an exciting opportunity for an Attendance Lead to join the Trust in September 2026.
The position is for 37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days.
Salary Scale 8, Point 25 (Range 25-28). Starting salary £31,799 (pay rise pending). Salary includes paid annual leave, which must be taken during school closure periods.

Berlesduna Academy Trust is based in Basildon and currently comprises of 11 primary schools, as well as two local authority SEND provisions. The Trust is looking to expand and is a vibrant, exciting and dynamic place to learn and work. Our ethos is very much about devolved leadership and all of our schools run independently, supported by our small central team.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, passionate and highly motivated Attendance Lead to drive attendance improvement across our family of primary schools. This is not a traditional attendance role; we are looking for someone who can combine strong analytical skills with excellent relationship building, coaching and leadership to drive sustainable improvement across multiple schools.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver our Trust-wide attendance strategy, working collaboratively with school leaders, pastoral teams and families to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed.
We are looking for someone who:
· has substantial experience of attendance improvement within education
· has an excellent understanding of attendance legislation and statutory guidance
· can confidently analyse complex attendance data and translate this into practical improvement strategies
· has experience of coaching, influencing and supporting school leaders and attendance/pastoral teams
· builds positive relationships whilst providing appropriate challenge where required
· understands barriers faced by vulnerable children and families, and can develop effective interventions
· is organised, proactive and able to manage priorities across multiple schools
· has excellent communication skills and is committed to improving outcomes for children
